about

This tune started as an ode to one of my favorite watering holes. It then turned into a celebration of taking it easy after a long work week and finding the key to real luxury. I live in Minnesota, so I figured I needed two different examples-- one for the winter and one for the summer.

Grab a drink - or whatever it is that relaxes you - and press PLAY. You worked all week. Now it’s time to step back and recharge your batteries, and nothing is gonna stop you. Right?

lyrics

Feelin Kinda Lazy like a bump on a log
Like a cold hard stone like a junkyard dog
Think I grab a beer and a smoke

I’ve been beaten down from a long hard week
And now I’m sittin down with a front row seat
To a bartender named Puff

Gonna take my time one step at a time

Well its cold outside, there is snow in the air
My fingers and my toes don’t feel all there
But I’m warm inside baby

Winters fine but its way to long
So grab yourself a bottle of something strong
And stick around around, for awhile

Gonna take my time one step at a time

Well I’ve been waitin all week for a little bit relaxation
I got a real bad case of beer starvation

Now the suns shinin bright and I don’t seem to care
About anything else except my big lawn chair
And my big red cooler

Funny how the stars align
When your all laid back with a peaceful mind
Luxury is all in your mind

Gonna take my time one step at a time
Gonna take my time one step at a time
